Area of Specialisation

Dr Thomas Riemann joined TIGGES as Of Counsel in October 2021. Until joining TIGGES, he worked for 15 years as head of the legal department of the Verband der Vereine Creditreform e.V. in Neuss. In addition, as managing director, he looked after the association "Die Wirtschaftsauskunfteien e.V.", whose members are the major credit agencies.

He advises national and international clients on data protection law and is a member of the firm‘s data protection competence team.

    Dr Riemann began his career as a lawyer at various law firms before he first became intensively involved with data protection law during his time at the Federation of German Industries in the early 1990s. This was followed by positions in leading positions at the telecommunications provider o.tel.o, at an RWE group company and as a compliance officer in the pharmaceutical industry (Johnson & Johnson) until he became chief legal counsel at Creditreform about 15 years ago. In this function, as well as in his capacity as managing director of the industry association "Die Wirtschaftsauskunfteien", he is intensively involved with the legal framework conditions for credit agencies and debt collection companies, and in particular with questions of data protection law.
