Dr. Guido Holler
Area of Specialisation
Dr. Guido Holler is a senior partner at the law firm. As a certified specialist for inheritance and tax law, he heads the law firm's "tax department", which is comprised of five professionals (lawyers/special counsel for tax law/tax advisors). Dr. Holler primarily renders advice to medium-sized companies, businesspeople and private parties, predominantly in the areas of inheritance and tax law. His focal points, therefore, particularly cover providing advice in the area of succession planning, including anticipated heritable succession. Property succession planning, drawing up testaments and gift contracts as well as work as the executor of wills are among the activities he undertakes in this area.
As a regional authorised representative of the Inheritance Law Working Group in the German Attorney Association in the Higher Regional Court District of Düsseldorf he organises the "Jour fixe des Erbrechts und Erbschaftssteuerrechts" (a regular meeting on inheritance law and inheritance tax law) in Düsseldorf, which regularly takes place once a month.
Dr. Holler also advises and represents his clients in the area of customs law. This includes the provision of advice during ongoing external audits, the examination of tariff classification issues and anti-dumping measures, as well as conducting appeal proceedings and fiscal court proceedings up to representation in criminal law proceedings and summary proceedings concerning administrative penalties.
Other Fields of Activity
In addition to his advisory work, Dr. Holler is a lecturer for the Düsseldorf Tax Advisor Association in the area of inheritance tax law and procedural law. Moreover, he works for leading private banks as an instructor for their customers or their customer service advisers. He also is a lecturer at the Hagen Law School, where he covers the area of customs law for their course leading to the qualification of special counsel for shipping and transport law.
Dr. Holler has been a partner at the law firm TIGGES Rechtsanwälte since 1992. Previously, he worked in the tax department of KPMG in Düsseldorf. He studied law at the University of Heidelberg. He completed his legal traineeship period in Konstanz, where he earned his PhD degree at the University on the subject of "Change in the type of profit determination method in income tax law". In the framework of his legal traineeship period, Dr. Holler also spent three months in London at BDO Hamlyn, an internationally-active auditing and accounting firm.
