Attorney Dr. Dominik Wagner, LL.M. is a senior partner at TIGGES and specializes in core issues of international business law. With over 15 years of professional experience, he assists German, Polish and international companies in addressing complex legal issues related to company formations, foreign expansion, cross-border trade activities and transactions in the corporate and real estate sectors (M&A).

As a certified specialist in commercial and corporate law, as well as international business law, Dr. Wagner has a profound understanding of contract, trade, corporate, and real estate law. His comprehensive expertise in these areas makes him a sought-after advisor for corporate clients from both domestic and international markets.

A particular focus of his work is his specialisation in German-Polish business transactions. As a German and Polish native speaker, he advises medium-sized and large companies on both sides of the Oder on cross-border trade activities and investments in the respective neighbouring country. As a registered foreign lawyer at the Katowice Bar Association and board member of the AHK Poland in Warsaw, he is deeply rooted in German-Polish economic relations.

In 2024, he completed an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree at the renowned Kozminski University in Warsaw and the ESCP Business School in Berlin. This underlines his ambition to continuously expand his business expertise and offer his clients excellent consulting services.     Dr. Wagner has held leading positions within international legal and business organisations for several years. He serves as President of the International Business Law Commission of the international lawyers‘ organisation AIJA, Brussels. He is also President of the international law firm network International Commercial Law Alliance (ICLA) based in London. Dr. Wagner is also Chairman of the Commission for SMEs and Family Businesses of the largest Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice (RIG Katowice); he is also the official representative of RIG Katowice in Germany. Previously, he was for several years Chairman Arbitrator of the Arbitration Centre at the German-Polish Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Poland) in Warsaw.

    He also works as an Approved Compliance Officer in compliance consulting for SMEs and supports companies in the development and implementation of compliance elements through to entire compliance management systems.

    After studying at the Faculty of Law at the Ruhr University in Bochum and the Jagiellonian Uni-versity in Krakow, Dr. Wagner completed several stages as a trainee lawyer in Germany and Poland, including at the German-Polish Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Before joining TIGGES, he worked for several years in Düsseldorf and Warsaw at an internationally orientated commercial law firm in the areas of corporate, insolvency and company law as well as German-Polish business transactions. In 2009, he completed a postgraduate degree in Polish and International Business Law (Master of Laws, LL.M.) at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, and in 2011, he earned his doctorate in law focusing on German-Polish foundation law at the Ruhr University Bochum under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Karlheinz Muscheler. Dr Wagner was awarded the specialist lawyer titles for commercial and corporate law and international business law in 2014 and 2015 respectively. In 2024, he completed the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme at the Kozminski University in Warsaw and the ESCP Business School in Berlin.
